When it snows in London, everyone converges on Parliament Hill. Tim and I grabbed a tea-tray that the last people in his flat had left behind, and headed out to the Heath, snowball-fighting all the way. All the blossom which has come out already was weighed down with fluffy white snow.

The tea-tray was not a success. The best I managed was a few inches, and then rolled down the rest of the hill to land in a nettle patch. However, I made a snow angel, and we made a big snowman almost as tall as we were. Tim also tried, at my insistence, to encase me in snow and make me into a live snowman, but that didn't work so well, and left me soaking and freezing.

Altogether, a great morning playing in the snow. It is thawing now.

It's been almost two months since I posted my enormous list of things I want to do, and I have finally done one of those things. I have eaten sushi.

Tim and I went to a nice little sushi bar, which unfortunately did not have one of those fun conveyor belt things, but never mind. I had cucumber and plum rolls, and vegetable rolls. To be honest, my favourite parts of the experience were the ritual aspects, such as eating the little pieces of picked ginger in between, and sipping my green tea in the correct way. I also loved podding the edamame beans, which were delicious, and the red bean pancake on a lily-pad of paper that we shared for pudding. The actual sushi wasn't really to my taste; I don't generally like vinegar, so I'm not surprised not to be overly fond of sushi, though I am glad I have tried it. On the whole, though, a fun dining experience.
