Bus Drivers
Oct. 5th, 2008 06:28 pmVictoria really does seem to have the best bus drivers ever. I've come across one or two grouches during more than 20 trips, but on the whole, they are pure gold.
Today, I was on one of the bigger buses rather than the cute minibus-style ones that I normally get, and the driver was cutting loose with the announcement mike:
"This is the Tsawwassen Ferry bus, calling at McKenzie, Royal Oak, Saanich and the Ferry. The weather is cool. We had a storm last night... I guess it was the first storm of the fall. There's a 40 percent chance of rain, according to the weather men. I say there's a thiry percent chance, and bus drivers are always right, just ask any of us. I hope you have your organ donor cards, as we will be travelling at speeds of up to eighty kilometres an hour... but I've had my medication, I'm feeling good. I love you all. This has been your bus driver. Next stop, McKenzie."
Brilliant!
