I cycled to town today, along the Lochside trail. It really is very pretty, with tunnels of honey yellow leaves overhanging the trail. The weather kept changing every two minutes. It was beautiful and bright when I stopped on the flat wooden bridge to take a photo of Roy, and straight after that, it got windy and rainy. I dropped Gerda off to have her brakes checked, bought a couple of books and a pretty scarf, and had tofu scramble for lunch at my favourite veggie restaurant while I attacked the first book. I finally got round to having a look at Victoria town centre, which is very attractive. Right opposite the Empress Hotel, someone has written "No Justice on Stolen Land" in the concrete under a park bench.
Cycling home, I saluted Roy, and gave Gerda's lights their first test run. I like the front one, which appeared to fill her basket with glowing golden light in the gathering dusk, but it is good that the back one seems brighter. She is even harder work to cycle with the dynamos going, so I shall try not to cycle in the dark too much.
