When moments of sheer bliss come along they should be treasured. After a very long day of travelling, chasing the sun around the world, the plane touched down in Hawaii just as the sun was setting. The last of us passengers descended the metal steps in rapidly darkening twilight, and it was long dark by the time I'd got the hire car sorted out. In the dark, and being disorientated after so long awake, I got completely lost in Kona, and it was a relief to find the hotel, especially when they gave me a toothbrush so I didn't have to venture out to replace my forgotten one. An hour later, I've washed away the travel grime with a hot coconut-scented shower and exchanged jeans and a fleece for a brightly-coloured Hawaiian flower dress. I'm sitting out in the warm, humid dark, sipping a chocolate Silk soy milk, listening to the crickets and the surf crashing on the rocks, and looking at six story palm trees waving in the wind and lights scattered up the mountainside behind.
